Press Releases
If you have something to announce, the press release is a very effective traditional tool that can also be optimized for your online audience. Online media giants like Google News are constantly on the prowl for newsworthy content to include in their listings. And with online newspapers and news aggregators like RSS feeds, the news from a single well-written press release with strategic keywords and other social media elements can pop up in Google's search results--exactly what you want in getting more visibility for your announcement. In a consultation, we can discuss promotional ideas around what your business offers and how to give it targeted distribution to statewide newspapers, broadcast stations and bloggers.

Client Spotlight
Midcoast Maine's Biggest Loser
The client wanted me to take the story of local personality, Chad Ridge and turn it into a dynamic press release announcing his goals to lose 200 pounds. The release, distributed to several major Maine news sites, got picked up by additional online outlets like Topix and Maineville.
SunriseGuide
The publisher behind this green and eco-friendly coupon book and resource guide wanted two things: 1. To announce to a statewide ME audience that the 5th anniversary edition of this Guide had just been published, and 2. To remind its audience that this Guide made an excellent holiday shopping gift. While I wrote the release, the client hired a separate firm to distribute it, which made it onto PRMaine, among a host of other Maine news sites.
