f you have an event you'd like to see mentioned in the Killer Convo, fan us on Facebook or email me directly.Short post today cuz my mammy is coming into town. If you're ever looking for cool places to take out-of-staters and to rhetorically answer their ever-present question, "Why do you live here?" You say: "Cocktail hour offered by Point Lookout every Wednesday from 4-6 pm." It's not something they advertise--but it's open to everyone and that's why I'm bringing it to you in The Killer Convo. Sipping a 'tini at the top of Ducktrap Mountain overlooking the islands of Penobscot Bay almost makes living here in February worth it.
Okay, here's the roundup. Some wonky stuff this weekend, the way we likes it. Appleton Library Thursday, June 24 6:30-8:30 pm If you like found art or mixed media projects, this is a terribly creative way to destroy and recreate an old book. An Altered Books Art Project with Carolyn Brown will be offered at the Appleton library June 24, July 1 and July 8. Brown will also offer a Science Fiction/Fantasy Art experience on July 22, July 29 and Aug. 5; both art sessions will be held at the library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will include all materials and instruction. Enrollment at each session is limited to 15 students with a commitment to attend all three classes. Students can register by calling the library at 785-5656.
